SOMFY GLYDEA MOTORIZED DRAPERY RODS

 

The Step-by-Step Guidelines below correspond to the various product options in each drop-down.

1. Select Motor: Somfy Glydea Rods can be ordered with the following motors:

  • a. Somfy Glydea 35 RTS Standard Duty Motorized Track: Maximum width of 32 ft. (360″), Maximum Drapery Weight 77 lbs.
  • b. Somfy Glydea 60e RTS Heavy Duty Motorized Track: Maximum width of 36 ft. (432″), Maximum Drapery Weight 132 lbs.

2. Rod Width: Rod Width is the finished width of your Somfy Glydea Rod. We do not make any additions or subtractions to the Rod Width you select; your Rod will be the exact width specified by you. Please note that if you are installing your Rod as an Inside Mount (wall to wall, for example), you will need to make a deduction so that the Rod is not the exact same width as the opening. Our recommendation is to deduct 1/2″.

3. Carrier Style: Somfy Glydea Rods can be manufactured for Pinch Pleat Draperies or Ripplefold Draperies. Pinch Pleat Draperies are attached to the Rod with Drapery Pins. If you have Pinch Pleat Draperies, select the Pinch Pleat Carrier Style. If you are selecting Ripplefold Carriers:

a. Ripplefold Fullness: Ripplefold Draperies are attached to the Rod via Ripplefold Snap Tape. Snap Tape is sewn onto the Drapery Panels at the time the Drapery Panels are fabricated. Somfy Glydea Rods can be fabricated with Ripplefold Snap Carriers to match Ripplefold Fullness of 60%, 80%, 100%, and 120%. The amount of Ripplefold Fullness selected for your Somfy Glydea Rod must match the fullness of your Ripplefold Drapery panels.

b. Ripplefold Master Slides: In addition to Ripplefold Fullness, you must choose Master Slide Style:

      1. i. Overlap Master Slides allow the fabric to ‘overlap’ in the center (Viewed from above):
      2. Overlap Slides
      3. ii. Butt Master Slides allow the fabric to ‘butt’ in the center (Viewed from above):
      4. Buttmaster Slides

4. Draw/Stack: ‘Draw’ or ‘Stack’ refers to how your Drapery Panels operate. You have three options:

  • Center-Open/Split Draw: A pair of drapery panels “meet” in the center of the Rod when the panels are drawn and are “stacked” at each side of the Track when the panels are returned.
  • One-Way Left Draw: The Track opens and closes a single panel from the left side of the Rod.
  • One-Way Right Draw: The Track opens and closes a single panel from the right side of the Rod.

5. Motor Placement: Select whether you prefer the motor to be on the right or left side of the rod. For a one-way draw drapery, you will want the motor to be on the same side that your drapery ‘stacks’ to. This way, the motor is always hidden behind the drapery fab

6. Brackets: Somfy rods can each be wall or ceiling mounted. The number of brackets supplied with your rod will be determined by us, based upon the width of the rod you select. Ceiling Mount Brackets (One-Touch or Swivel) can be mounted at any position along width of the track. Wall Mount Brackets are available in two configurations:

  • Adjustable Wall Mount Brackets, 4 1/2″ to 6″: Select these brackets to mount a single rod in cases in which you do not need to clear any other items or obstructions behind the rod.
  • Adjustable Wall Mount Brackets, 8 3/4″ to 10″: Select these when you are mounting two rods (one in front of the other), or in the cases of a single rod where additional rear-clearance is called for.

7. RTS Controller: Somfy offers a number of controller options for the Glydea Motorized Track. You can operate your Motorized Track with a hand-held remote (single, five and sixteen channel options); a wireless wall switch (single and five channel options); or a programmable transmitter which can be programmed to operate your track at times specified by you.

8. Smartphone Control: myLink is a simple device that turns your smartphone or tablet into a sophisticated remote control for motorized products featuring Radio Technology Somfy. MyLink allows you to operate Somfy Motorized Track from your smartphone or tablet, whether home or away.

SOMFY GLYDEA MOTORIZED DRAPERY RODS

Somfy Glydea Motorized Rods are shipped to you fully assembled and pre-programmed. The Glydea Motor comes with a 10-foot cord which plugs directly into a standard 110v AC outlet, eliminating the need for hard-wiring. Somfy Glydea 35 RTS Rods can be manufactured to a Maximum Width of 32 ft. (360″) and carry a maximum drapery weight of 77 pounds. Somfy Glydea 60E RTS Rods can be manufactured to a Maximum Width of 36 ft. (432″) and carry a maximum drapery weight of 132 pounds. Rods exceeding 93″ in Length will be spliced for shipping. If you prefer that your Rod not be spliced, please call us for a Freight Shipping Quote before placing your order. All Rods exceeding 192″ must be spliced.
